Penne Carbonara

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp Butter (#180140)
  • 1 small Red Onion, chopped (#340065)
  • 1 small Yellow Onion, chopped (#340090)
  • 4 oz Portobello Mushrooms, chopped (#340219)
  • 4 cloves Garlic, rinsed (#340051)
  • 7 oz Bacon, cooked & crumbled into large pieces (#1002355)
  • 12 oz Chicken Breast, grilled & sliced (#1002241)
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream (#180115)
  • ¼ cup Romano Cheese (#190010)
  • ¼ cup Asiago Cheese (#171900)
  • Salt & Pepper, to taste (#110600 & 450430)
  • 16 oz Penne (#310760)

Directions:

  1. Sauté onions, mushrooms, & garlic in butter until ingredients are soft and yellow onions are translucent.  Add bacon & chicken, then add heavy cream.  Bring mixture to a boil, then begin cooking penne separately.
  2. Add cheese, salt & pepper.  Stir and let simmer 2-3 minutes.  Drain penne, then add it to the Carbonara mixture and coat with sauce.  Serve.
