Kindness Matters

From Delullo’s Trattoria (Cicero, IN):

I wanted to send an e-mail to you to let you know how much I appreciate your drivers.  Everyone is kind and professional, but there is one that stands out, Brad Purcell.  He delivers to DeLullo’s on Thursday mornings.

I have an employee that is near and dear to me.  His name is Austin, and he’s a wonderful young man.  Austin has autism.  He helps me with many different tasks at the restaurant, including putting inventory away.  Austin knows what time the truck arrives, and what to do once it gets there.  He looks forward to the truck and Brad arriving every Thursday.  While Brad’s time spent with Austin is brief, it is always heartwarming.  Brad takes the time to acknowledge Austin and ask him how he is every Thursday and if they go a week without seeing each other, they are sure to ask where the other was the week before.  Brad allows Austin to sign for the delivery (which I also approve).

A brief, friendly, interaction is all it takes to make a difference in someone’s day.  Brad’s kind personality will always be appreciated and will never go unnoticed.
